Through my work, I seek to catalogue my life and experiences while exploring universal narratives, aesthetic thru lines and the natural beauty of people and places.

Born and raised in the Hudson Valley of upstate New York, Sean Willett draws inspiration from the region’s ever-changing landscapes, painting plein air to capture its lush greenery, babbling brooks, and shifting seasonal hues. Additionally, he creates portraiture that honors and celebrates the individual and conceptual pieces that suggest and reflect on our personal and communal story.

Willett’s work pulls from many styles including surrealism, fauvism, urban graffiti, pop art and figurative expressionism. It explores the drama and grandeur of nature, humanity, and the subconscious. His artistic journey has led him to exhibit in shops, galleries, paint murals—including a collaboration with graffiti artist Max Cuciti—and participate in live painting alongside musicians such as Laura Leigh and the World Peace Band.

Whether working in his studio or painting by a riverside, Willett seeks to reflect life’s complexity and beauty, using his art as a means to document personal experiences while engaging with a broader cultural and aesthetic conversation.
